Most of what gets written about identity security comes from vendors. Ourselves included, sometimes.
So we decided to do something different. Instead of adding one more branded take on identity risk, we went to the people who face it every day: the SOC analysts, the threat hunters, the GRC leads, the incident responders, the ones who are awake at 2 a.m. when an identity gets compromised. We asked them to talk. Honestly. Without a product pitch attached.
That's what this series is: real conversations with security practitioners about identity risk. How they see it from the field, what worries them, what they'd do differently, and what they wish more people understood. No filters. No “sponsored by.” Just their perspective, in their own words.
Why identity, and why now
The perimeter dissolved years ago. As applications and data moved to the cloud and SaaS, the login page became the new front door — and attackers followed. Today, more intrusions begin with a stolen credential than with a broken piece of software. The attacker doesn't break in; they log in. And once inside, their activity looks a lot like legitimate access, which is exactly what makes it so hard to catch.
Identity has quietly become the center of the security problem. But it still lives across disconnected tools, and disconnected conversations. Posture over here, detection over there, compliance somewhere else. We think that conversation deserves better. So does the practitioner living it.
What to expect
Every two weeks, one new conversation. One voice at a time, from governance to digital forensics, from the SOC to threat intelligence. Each brings a different angle, and together they build something a single vendor perspective never could: an honest, working picture of what identity risk actually looks like on the ground.
